The only Prague hotel in The hot 100 best hotels in Europe 2010 by The Sunday Times.
Design boutique hotel Domus Balthasar is a baroque building with medieval foundation and 21st century design, situated on the Royal Route, in the heart of the oldest and most romantic part of Prague - Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana), few steps from Charles Bridge, close to Old Town and Prague Castle.
Domus Balthasar is nearly of all most popular sights within easy reach on foot or by tram.
Altough is situated in the centre, also in a neighborbood of nicest parks. It is the ideal place for a holiday as well as for an enjoyable business trip.
The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations.
The hotel is situated in a preserved historical house within UNESCO town preserve; due to this fact the house does not have a lift.
Hotel has 8 rooms including 2 Double attic rooms, 3 generously spacious DeLuxe Double rooms, 2 Suites with kitchenette and 1 Royal.
Double attic room:
Attic rooms are at the very top of the building, covering the area of 24 square meters. They are the smallest, creating a place of warm, cosy atmosphere. Gorgeous wooden beam ceiling has at the sides small loft windows, from which housetops of the Lesser Town buildings are seen, mostly in renaissance style with the later baroque-classicistic reconstructions.

We stayed in the attic room for 3 nights. Staff is very very friendly and helpful!! The room itself is nice and well decorated as you can see in the pictures but if you are above 1.70 cm, I recommend you not to book this room. Especially the bathroom was totally uncomfortable! You can't have a shower while you are standing!! Breakfast was served in the café next to the hotel and it was not more than two types of cheese and salami, some fruits and yogurt. If you are used to have rich breakfast buffet, this one is really nothing! On the other hand the location was perfect can’t be even better! All the tourist attractions are in a walking distance. Additionally if you are planning to stay in the high season be careful because when the hotel is booked out, you can have problems to get hot water!!!!!! |

slim, tall house next to the Charles bridge we had one of the two attic rooms. It's cozy, but you should not be taller than 180 cm and pack light for the stairs :) if you want an experience take the attic rooms, they are not bad, the standard rooms on the first three storeys are high enough. good quick internet, tasty bagels for breakfast |

N/AThe Hotel was ideally situated for getting around and seeing the old parts of Prague. Staff were helpful & friendly -particularly the waitress at breakfast ! The facilities in the bedroom were good -plenty of tea & coffee. We managed the climb up to our attic bedrooms where fortunately there was air conditioning as it was quite warm |

N/A06.02.2009 The hotel was incredible! We had a wonderful time! A hotel with only a few rooms, very quite and very clean. Pictures are real, no fake! Rooms are as on photo. Rooms are big, with entrance with a small living room, kitchen, and bathroom really complete with shower and a bathtub (for 2 people). Beds are confortable and lots of details(chocolates on the pillow, fruit...). If the price fits you, is the best you can choose! In front of Charles IV'bridge, really centric. |

N/AThe Domus Balthasar was lovely. The location was perfect (almost at the foot of the Charles Street bridge and just up the steps from Kampa Island), but still quiet), the bed comfortable, the bathtub fantastic, and the staff very helpful. |
